Performance wise, both versions target a 60 frames per second target and once again, it’s the PS4 version which runs pretty close to that standard. With v-sync on, the PS4 has next to no screen tearing resulting into a better overall experience compared to the Xbox One. The Xbox One version on the other hand runs at v-sync off, and suffers from screen tearing and drops a lot of frames.
Call of Duty Infinite Warfare may not be pushing the PS4 and Xbox One to their limits however it does look pretty amazing at times. High resolution textures, decent shadow quality, superb volumetric and alpha effects and several cinematic moments make the single player campaign on both consoles a joy to behold. The game also utilizes pre-rendered cutscenes. However unlike in-game scenarios, the engine runs them at 30fps along with frame pacing issues.
Overall, the PS4 version is the one you need to pick because of its slightly better image quality and performance over the Xbox One. This isn’t hugely surprising given that the PS4 was the lead platform for the game.
