Crytek’s Hunt: Horrors of the Gilded Age has been renamed to Hunt: Showdown and has a new team on board. Crytek announced today that a gameplay reveal for Hunt: Showdown would be coming at E3 2017.
The developer stated that, “Based on the previously announced title Hunt: Horrors of the Gilded Age, Crytek’s Hunt: Showdown has taken the original concept in a different direction under a new development team.” It’s more than likely that everything we know about the game has pretty much changed.
Announced in 2014 under Crytek USA, Hunt: Horrors of the Gilded Age was meant to be a free to play co-op title. It was headed by members of former Darksiders studio Vigil Games. Unfortunately, Crytek USA shut down due to financial issues and Crytek Frankfurt was put in charge. Hunt: Showdown seems to be a competitive multiplayer title now.
With E3 2017 beginning on June 13th (several publishers have pressers lined up beforehand), it remains to be seen how Hunt: Showdown will look. Stay tuned for more information in the coming weeks.
