ESRB Details For Honor’s Gore And Intense Violence

A closed beta showcasing For Honor is coming in the early part of 2017 but those that have already gotten a look at the game are finding it quite impressive. The Entertainment Software Rating Board (better known as the ESRB) revealed further details about the game and has given the title a “Mature” rating.

When pointing to the reason why For Honor earned that rating, the ESRB pointed to blood, gore and violence. The board pointed to melee fights in the title which are splattered with blood. Some of the cut scenes include severed heads as well.

You can check out the entire rating explanation below and decide whether that makes For Honor attractive for you. The game is going to be coming to the PS4, Xbox One and PC on February 14, 2017.

“This is an action game in which players control one of three factions (Samurai, Vikings, Knights) in a protracted battle for dominance. As players complete mission objectives, they use swords, axes, and spears to kill enemy warriors in melee-style combat. Blood-splatter effects occur frequently as enemies are killed; some areas depict large bloodstains and impaled heads on spikes. Players can also perform finishing attacks (e.g., decapitation, impalements) that are sometimes highlighted by close-up camera angles. Cutscenes depict additional acts of violence: bound warriors decapitated by swords; characters executed with weapon strikes to the head.”
