Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite Roster Leaks, No X-Men Characters – Rumour

Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite, the next iteration of Capcom’s acclaimed crossover fighting game, has met with an interesting response in the past few months. Not only does it seem to emphasize Marvel characters more, especially with the Infinity Stones thrown in, but also seems to be easier for relatively new players.

However, anyone expecting the X-Men (or some other particular favourite) may be in for a disappointment. NeoGAF’s Ryce, who has leaked characters for the game before, has revealed the entire roster. Some neat additions include Monster Hunter, Nemesis, Ant-Man, Gamora and Arthur. There’s also an unknown character that has to be revealed.
  • Arthur
  • Chris
  • Chun-Li
  • Dante
  • Firebrand
  • Jedah
  • Monster Hunter
  • Morrigan
  • Nemesis
  • Ryu
  • Spencer
  • Strider Hiryu
  • Mega Man X
  • Ant-Man
  • Captain America
  • Captain Marvel
  • Doctor Strange
  • Gamora
  • Hawkeye
  • Hulk
  • Iron Man
  • Nova
  • Rocket/Groot
  • Spider-Man
  • Thanos
  • Thor
  • Ultron
Overall though, the list seems pretty fairly balanced with each side getting nearly equal representation among the 28 characters. Despite the leaker’s reputation though, take this list with a grain of salt.

Marvel vs Capcom Infinite releases on September 19th for Xbox One, PS4, and PC. What are your thoughts on it so far? Let us know in the comments.

Titanfall 2 Monarch’s Reign Now Live With New Titan and Map

Respawn Entertainment’s Titanfall 2 has received its major new update Monarch’s Reign on Xbox One, PS4 and PC. Along with adding a new map and balancing out weapons, the update adds a new Titan in the form of Monarch. Check out the trailer below to see Monarch in action.

Unlike other Titans, Monarch has an Upgrade Core that allows her to gain new abilities the longer she stays alive. There are three tiers of upgrades and her new Energy Thief ability has been properly revealed. As it turns out, it activates whenever Monarch executes an enemy, draining their battery’s energy for her own use.

Monarch’s Reign also includes Relic, a remastered map from the first Titanfall, and fixes to the Crashsite map including new ziplines and places to wall-run. Players also receive new premium cosmetics like the Prime Ronin and Tone skins, callsigns and camos. Finally, Titan Brawl is the featured mode and all modes will dole out double XP for players.

PS Plus Games For June Revealed: Life Is Strange And Killing Floor 2 Headline

It looks like PlayStation Europe has blown the lid off of the surprise a bit early, because this video, which you can see for yourself below, and which announces the PS Plus games for the month of June, is still unlisted on YouTube. However, we now know that the rumors were indeed true.

For the month of June, it looks like PS4 players can look forward to Killing Floor 2, the fantastic multiplayer co-op shooter, as well as the first season of Life Is Strange, the exceptional visual novel/adventure style game made by Dontnod, which launched a couple of years ago to great acclaim and success, and which already has a follow up season in the works.

We don’t know the games for PS3 and PS Vita just yet- but hopefully Sony will finally be posting an official blog confirming the full details shortly. In the meanwhile, what we have is without a doubt one of the best PS Plus months we have had in a while already.

Shadow of War New Video Shows Of 88 Minutes Of Gameplay Footage

Monolith has shared new footage of its upcoming open world action adventure game set in the fantasy world of The Lord of the Rings. Middle-Earth: Shadow of War is due out later this year, and a brand new video for the game shows off 88 minutes of new footage for the title.

One of the highlights is an assault on a fortress, though of course, we get to see other stuff too, including what look to be some deeper RPG elements, and a loot system. The game looks great, too- although it is unclear what version is being shown running here. Still, with 88 minutes to watch, I’m sure you’ll find enough here to be entertained by.

Shadow of War is the sequel to the 2014 hit action adventure game Shadow of Mordor. It is due out later this year for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC.

PS4 Update 4.70 ‘Improves System Performance’ But Causing Issues

Update 4.70 has been released for the PS4, which means – you know what it means, it means system stability. Yes, it’s another one of those updates. In Sony’s official parlance, “this system software update improves the quality of the system performance.”

That said, it looks like there is one more minor change- apparently, some system level icons have been changed by this new update, including the icon for the PS Store. Let’s see if you can spot the difference! Let’s also try to figure out why Sony wouldn’t cal attention to that in the official patch notes for this update…

The update is available to download right now. As is the case, if your PS4 is on Rest Mode, it will have downloaded the update automatically, based on your settings (it will have even installed it, if you have that setting enabled). If not, then you have to download and/or install it yourself. At least that doesn’t take a lot of time or anything, though.

People are encountering issues after updating their systems to it. Specifically, GamesRadar is reporting that a lot of players are encountering either locked up, or even bricked consoles, once they update to it. This… well, this can be an issue, obviously.

The good news is that for the time being, these players who ran into problems appear to have found fixes that have gotten them out of their problems. Basically, if you run into this problem, turn off the PS4 by holding down the power button. When you hear two beeps, the system has rebooted in Safe Mode. Reinstall the update, rebuild the database, make sure to have all external accessories disconnected (except for the controllers, of course), and make sure you are also not plugged into LAN. Restart the system, and you should be fine.

Alternately, if you have not yet installed the update, the best thing might be simply to not do so until Sony releases a hotfix for the problem.

Overwatch Competitive Play Season 5 Start Timing Revealed

Season 4 of Overwatch’s Competitive Play may have ended on May 28th but Blizzard isn’t offering much time for rest. Season 5 will be starting up on May 31st at 8 PM ET. Those who have completed Season 4 should be awarded with the requisite amount of Competitive Points depending on their rank. If you’re in Bronze (SR 1 to 1499), that means 100 CP. Silver (SR 1500 to 1999) means 200 CP. Gold (SR 2000 to 24999) equals 400 CP with Grandmaster (SR 4000 to 5000) getting 3000 CP.

The rewards for Competitive Play are the Golden Weapons which cost 3000 CP each. Even if you’re not an avid Competitive player, it’s worth finishing your placement matches to net some free CP. They add up over time.

You also get a free spray and player icon for completing your placement matches. Top 500 players for each region net an additional animated spray and special icon for their efforts.

Far Cry 5 Co-op Will Only Be Playable Online

Far Cry 5 can be played entirely with a friend, co-op- which sounds incredibly awesome, and like the kind of thing that you are sure will give the game enduring appeal and replayability. Except… that co-op mode will only be available if you play online. If your friend happens to be in the same room as you, because you two are hanging out like normal human beings, then, well… yeah, you can’t play co-op.

Ubisoft confirmed this to Polygon in a statement. Which is just great- I mean, I get that having online co-op is great, and I appreciate that. But why not have it be available offline, too? What is stopping that from happening? Why is splitscreen rapidly becoming a thing of the past? This is one thing that I appreciate Nintendo doing, in that they always support local play as well as online play.

Anyway, my interest in Far Cry 5 just plummeted. If you’re still interested in the game, it launches on February 27 for PS4, Xbox One, and PC.

Releasing in early 2018 for PC, PS4 and Nintendo Switch, Lost Sphear appears to be yet-another low-budget JRPG from the publishing house behind Final Fantasy. What are your thoughts on it so far? Let us know below.

Overwatch Mei’s Total Mayhem Glitch Lets Players Build Ice Walls

In the most unsurprising news of the week, there’s another glitch in Overwatch to talk about. This time, it’s to do with character Mei- and it lets you build glorious ice walls all around the map. Granted, it’s more of a visual bug than anything else, but there’s the added bonus of stopping players from trapping the enemy in their spawn or blocking off choke points.

This was brought to attention via a Reddit post by Reddit user kac5amar. In the same post, another user, Simonnr, commented on the post to further clarify what this glitch exactly is. “It is a bug, the other pillars that make up the wall seem to end up at the 0,0,0 coordinates of whichever map you’re playing,” he said. “This is easily proven by going to Kings Row where the missing pillars will pop up next to the bus.”

So, yes, despite the advantages we spoke of above, it doesn’t look like this was intentional. Either way, there hasn’t been any word by Blizzard on this yet, so stay tuned for more updates.

Star Wars Battlefront 2 Gameplay Premiere Date Revealed

Star Wars Battlefront 2 is, without a doubt, one of the most highly anticipated upcoming releases of the year, and with E3 drawing closer, excitement surrounding the game is amping up by the day. EA have given everyone reason to get even more excited, by announcing a date for a gameplay reveal for the game.

The official EA Star Wars Twitter account recently posted a small clip to announce that there will be a gameplay world premier for Star Wars: Battlefront II at EA Play on June 10, less than two weeks from now. Battlefront II promises to build on the solid foundation set up by its predecessor in the multiplayer department, with maps and characters spanning across all three eras of Star Wars, but what will have fans most excited about this reveal is that they’ll be receiving a lot of new details on the single player campaign, which, as we now know, is going to be canon to the new Star Wars mythos.

The game launches on the PS4, Xbox One and PC on November 17 2017. The game is also confirmed to receive Scorpio enhancements.

Far Cry 5’s Map Is Designed So That No Two Players Will Have The Same Experience

Ubisoft recently announced Far Cry 5 with an official trailer, and the reception so far has been very positive. What’s been most interesting about the game’s reveal is its setting- after the remote settings of an uncharted island and the Himalayas in previous games, Far Cry 5 is going to be set in Hope County in Montana.

And that’s gonna be interesting in more ways than one- even outside of the narrative reasons. Dan Hay, the creative director and executive producer of Far Cry 5, recently sat down for an interview with Hardcore Gamer, and he spoke about the setting briefly.

According to Hay, the map is going to be designed in such a way and offer so much freedom that no two players are going to have the same experience while playing Far Cry 5. “We’re not specifically talking about the size right now,” Hay said while speaking about the game’s map. “What I can say is that we did change the structure a bit so that you have the ability to go in any direction you want to. The experience you and I have could be vastly different based on what direction we go.”

Sounds interesting. There’s bound to be even more information on the game soon, with E3 getting closer, so stay tuned. Far Cry 5 is going to be out in February next year for the PS4, Xbox One and PC.

Destiny 2 Uses Hybrid Servers, Bungie “Invested Heavily” in New Server Infrastructure

Since its reveal on May 18th, Bungie’s Destiny 2 has received praise but also illicited concern. Many fans expressed disappointment at the lack of dedicated servers, especially given the latency problems that occurred in the first Destiny.

To address concerns, engineering lead on Destiny 2 Matt Segur provided a detailed explanation to the hybrid servers that the game will be using. Segur first addressed the lack of dedicated servers, noting that, “Every activity in Destiny 2 is hosted by one of our servers. That means you will never again suffer a host migration during your Raid attempt or Trials match.

“This differs from Destiny 1, where these hosting duties were performed by player consoles and only script and mission logic ran in the data center. To understand the foundation on which we’re building, check out this Destiny 1 presentation from GDC. Using the terms from this talk, in Destiny 2, both the Mission Host and Physics Host will run in our data centers.”

He further revealed what kind of servers the sequel is using. “Destiny 2 uses a hybrid of client-server and peer-to-peer technology, just like Destiny 1. The server is authoritative over how the game progresses, and each player is authoritative over their own movement and abilities. This allows us to give players the feeling of immediacy in all their moving and shooting – no matter where they live and no matter whom they choose to play with.”

As for whether this approach was taken to save money, Segur said, “Nope! We’ve invested heavily in new server infrastructure for Destiny 2, including using cloud servers for gameplay for the first time. We really believe this is the best model for all of Destiny 2’s varied cooperative and competitive experiences. Engineering will always involve tradeoffs and cost-benefit analysis, but as a team we’ve got no regrets about the unique technology we’ve built for Destiny 2.”

At the very least it sounds like it will be an improvement over Destiny. However, this hybrid technology doesn’t sound all that different from what, say, Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 uses. And unfortunately, that game wasn’t completely safe against lag issues either.

Regardless, we’ll have to wait till Destiny 2 releases on September 8th for Xbox One and PS4 (the PC version arrives later) to see how it fares.

Titanfall 2’s New Titan Monarch, Relic Map Revealed in New Trailer

Respawn Entertainment’s Titanfall 2 will receive a major update coming on May 30th and it finally has a name: Monarch’s Reign. This update will introduce the seventh Titan to multiplayer with Monarch along with a map remastered from the original Titanfall, Relic. Check out the trailer for it below.

If Monarch looks familiar, then it’s because it resembles the Vanguard-class Titan from the campaign. Unlike other Titans, Monarch has an Upgrade Core that allows her to further improve her abilities. The longer Monarch stays alive, the higher the likelihood that she achieves her “final form”. Another ability she boasts is draining power from enemy Titans to augment her shields or that of allied Titans.

The Relic map takes place on the IMC carrier IMS Odyssey and is yet another great map from the first game. Monarch’s Reign will also have new Prime skins for Ronin and Tone which bring their own unique executions (look for the cherry blossoms when Ronin executes an opponent). There will also be a new Camo Pack with World War 2-style camouflage. Furthermore, you can pick up new Art Packs for each Titan and a fresh Callsign Pack.

Far Cry 5 Video Details Survival in Hope County

Things are a little crazy in Hope County, Montana and Ubisoft’s Far Cry 5 will see players go the distance to stop a doomsday cult. In a new developer diary, executive producer Dan Hay talks about going to Montana to speak to residents and how the overall sense of the place resonated with them. Check it out below.

Along with the so-called Father who leads the Eden’s Gate cult, players will deal with Joseph, John and Faith, known as the Heralds. You’ll be fighting against different family members, each with their own purpose and coming across NPCs who do more than provide missions.

AI characters like Mary May, Pastor Jerome and Nick Rye will join the resistance against Eden’s Gate along with offering opinions on what’s going on. You’ll need to earn their trust though and they apparently add to the experience as Guns for Hire.

Far Cry 5 is out on February 27th 2018 for Xbox One, PS4 and PC. It will also release on Project Scorpio and PS4 Pro.

Titanfall 2 May Update Adds New Titan, Relic Map, New Prime Titans

Respawn Entertainment’s Titanfall 2 continues to receive updates with the next big one coming on May 30th. This will add a new Titan called Monarch, a “mid-range Vanguard-class” whose Upgrade Core allows players to gain upgrades the longer it stays alive.

This will lead to Monarch’s “final form” and Respawn noted one of the abilities to include draining energy from enemy Titans to recharge shields, both her own and for nearby allied Titans”. Expect more information and a video of Monarch “soon”.

The other big part of this update is Relic, a remade map from the first Titanfall. An existing map Crashsite will also see some updates to fix collision issues and introduce ziplines and new areas to wall run on.

The update will also bring new Prime Titan skins for Ronin and Tone along with new nose art, camos and callsigns to purchase from the store. There will also be a new execution to earn called Now You See Me which works with the Cloak ability.

Finally, there will be a featured mode called Titan Brawl to offer double XP for a short period. Players can also expect a “major” balance patch following the May update.

The Division Update 1.6.1 Now Live, Adds Loadouts

Tom Clancy’s The Division has received update 1.6.1 which fixes a number of bugs, makes changes to Last Stand and adds Loadouts. Perhaps the best feature of the new update, Loadouts allows players to save different builds with gear, weapons, perks, skills and mods. These can then be swapped when the player is out of battle. Up to five different Loadouts can be saved.

Other changes include Proficiency Marks for players in Last Stand, awarded to those who score the highest in a particular role; rewards for clearing Dark Zone Landmarks including a non-contaminated item directly into one’s inventory; backpacks now having a base capacity of 110 inventory slots which can be increased to 120 with the Base of Operations perks unlocked.
What are your thoughts on the latest update? Will it entice you to return to The Division once more? Let us know in the comments. Meanwhile, you can view the full patch notes below:

New Feature: Loadouts
  • Loadouts offer players the chance to save their equipped Weapons, Gear, Skills and Talents to Loadout slots, allowing for quick swapping of builds to be used for different activities.
  • Players will be able to create and save up to 6 Loadouts per character.
  • Each Loadout can be directly equipped when out of combat.
Gameplay
  • Aim assist will no longer be activated when players hip-fire with a controller.
  • Fixed several bugs that could prevent players from being revived by skills or player interaction if they were previously being revived by a support station and this revive was canceled for various reasons.
  • Fixed instances of HVT bosses remaining stuck in their spawn room preventing completion of the contract.
  • Fixed instances where players would be stuck “in combat” with NPCs outside of the mission area after completing a mission.
  • Fixed a bug where Resistance to Status Effects would still be counted as a chance to resist the effect altogether, on top of reducing its duration. The resistance value will now correctly only reduce the duration of a Status Effect.
  • Fixed a bug where a few fire extinguishers would deal high amount of damage to NPCs in some missions. For consistency, fire extinguishers in the entire game will no longer deal any damage and only apply the disorient effect to NPCs.
  • Fixed a bug where grenades thrown by LMB grenadiers would sometimes apply stagger and damage before they actually detonated.
Items
  • Backpack capacity will no longer be randomly generated for all High-End, Exotic and Gear Sets backpacks. Instead, they will all have a capacity of 110 (120 with all Base of Operations perks unlocked). This change is retroactive.
  • Level 34 extended magazines will now roll between 109% and 121% extra magazine size (instead of 109 to 111%). This change is not retroactive.
  • Existing old level 33 extended magazines that had a magazine size bonus above 108% will be reduced to 108%.
  • Nimble will now apply healing over time in 4 ticks over 4 seconds.
  • NinjaBike Backpack has been removed from all loot tables until it can be correctly revamped. That means that it will no longer drop from NPCs or in Exotic Caches.
  • Fixed a bug where some items could not be recalibrated to the maximum stat range that was displayed at the recalibration station. (reported by Bratwurst.Bob)
  • Fixed a bug with Path of the Nomad where the four-piece talent cooldown progress would reset upon death in Last Stand. (reported by Koto2016)
  • Fixed a bug with Tactician’s Authority where the 4 piece bonus wouldn’t reset correctly when starting a back-to-back Last Stand game session.
Talents

  • Fixed a bug with Triage where the cooldown reduction would not display properly in the UI. (reported by Morph2o)

  • Burst fire weapons will now have a maximum RPM, making it impossible to reach non-burst rate of fire with specific control modifications. This includes Burst Fire MP5, FAL and 93R.
  • Base Flinch has been significantly reduced on all weapons. This change affects both PvP and PvE (NPCs weapons will cause less Flinch).

  • Fixed a bug where the slowing effect of bleed would apply multiple times on a character using a ballistic shield.
  • Fixed a bug with First Aid Booster Shot where applying the skill another time while the buff was still active would not refresh its duration.
  • Fixed a bug with Ballistic Shield when using 4 piece D3-FNC where the mod bonuses would still apply despite what the Gear Set talent states.
