While the VR revolution (or what we hope will be the VR revolution) is almost here, on the whole, it seems to be the domain of high end PCs- though the PlayStation VR exists, it is the only VR solution available to console players. HTC Vive and Oculus Rift, the two higher end VR headsets, are only available on PC, and only compatible with extremely high end PCs.
But for some reason, it appears that console players are far more interested in the prospect of VR than PC players are. A new survey by research group Ipsos reveals that 63 percent of consoles players across Europe are interested in VR, as compared to only 51 percent of PC gamers. If the pool of console players is further restricted to just PS4 or Xbox One owners, the gap becomes even bigger- 72% of PS4 and Xbox One players being interested in VR.
In a sense, I suppose it is a case of these players wanting something that is currently mostly out of their reach? Or maybe the general accessibility of VR for console game players (PSVR is a plug and play solution with the PS4, and Oculus Rift is compatible with Xbox One without any hassles) makes them more keen on the format than PC players, who are gated by dauntingly high system requirements to even get VR to run.
