Bungie hopes that Destiny’s new Rise of Iron expansion will be good enough to meet player expectations. Talking to Eurogamer, creative director Chris Barrett said that, with Rise of Iron, Bungie wanted to give “players as much as we can.”
With Rise of Iron and future expansions, Bungie will be making use of new tools, Barrett said, “to make content quicker and focus on what the best and most impactful experiences for players.”
Destiny itself released to a somewhat lukewarm reception, with criticism aimed at what many felt was a shallow and sterile environment behind the evocative artwork. Destiny expansions have had their ups and downs, from the rarefied heights of The Taken King down to content like The Dark Below.
Rise of Iron is set to drop for PS4 and Xbox One on September 20th.
