Watch Dogs 2 – Difficulty And Progression System Details Revealed

Watch Dogs 2 is almost here- and the sequel to the 2014 open world hit looks set to do a lot of things differently from the standard Ubisoft open world game template. However, the one area where it hasn’t changed is in terms of its Season Pass, and how potentially exploitative it looks at first glance.

Ubisoft’s Jonathan Morin, lead producer on Watch Dogs 2, has rushed in to clear that misconception, however. Owing to the fact that the Season Pass also includes a new difficulty mode, there have been concerns about how the game’s difficulty and progression otherwise may be impacted. According to Morin, however, these concerns are unfounded.

Speaking on Twitter, Morin confirmed that the base game has a lot of difficulty and settings, and that the additional mode is to enable the developers to do more with co-op later. He explained that there are difficulty settings on top of a progressive system for the co-op missions, and that the developers want to push that- which is why they are giving themselves room to do so with the new difficulty. He also added that the standard game would be pretty difficult too, especially given that Realist Mode exists in Watch Dogs 2, too.

Watch Dogs 2 is set to launch on Xbox One, PS4, and PC on November 15. While people are expecting it to be a better game than the first one, so far, it seems to be tracking below the original in terms of pre-orders.
