EA recently announced Star Wars: Battlefront II along with a trailer, and fans have obviously been reacting very positively. Not only does the game look excellent, but other than expanding on its predecessor’s solid multiplayer core, it will also feature what looks to be an ambitious and compelling single player campaign, that will also be Star Wars canon to boot.
However, that’s not all. We have plenty of more information on the game. For instance, we know that Kamino, the aquatic planet that was first introduced to the series in Attack of the Clones, will be a featured location in the game (pictured below). This will, understandably, make a number of Star Wars fans giddy as schoolboys.
We also know now that the multiplayer in Battlefront 2 will feature a class system, something that will obviously have a number of people excited. Seeing as the Star Wars mythos has a number of soldiers and enemy types that players can play as and against, a full blown class system would elevate the multiplayer to an entirely new level.
Additionally, it also looks like unlike its predecessor, Battlefront 2 won’t have a season pass. Creative director Bernd Diemer says that DICE felt that for a game like Battlefront, a season pass wouldn’t have been the best thing, which is something they learnt after the release of the original game. “I cannot talk about the specifics of this, but we have something different in mind that will allow you to play longer, be [more] invested in the game without having a fragmented community,” he said.
Lastly, one Reddit user was present at Star Wars Battlefront 2 panel yesterday where gameplay was showcased. The user “Iloveyoumarko” allgedly saw the gameplay in which “the main character used a small droid to take out an enemy via shock and opened a door.” Furthermore, a demonstration of animal creation was showcased indicating that the developers are trying hard to include as many intricate details as they can. And lastly, the user also saw more planets other than the ones featured in the trailer with one of them possibly being Felucia.
