Microsoft has announced that four Halo titles – namely Halo: CE Anniversary, Halo 3, Halo 3: ODST and Halo 4 – will support backwards compatibility on the Xbox One later this year. Furthermore, all the map DLC will be free.
Along with the campaign and multiplayer, LAN play will be supported, especially when playing between Xbox One and Xbox 360. Whether it’s a digital copy of the game or the original disc, you can start playing immediately.
More information on backwards compatibility support will be offered later but those attending RTX Austin 2017 will be able to check out Halo 3 and Halo 3: ODST running on the Xbox One. Honestly, backwards compatibility for all of the above is interesting since Halo: The Master Chief Collection is available on the Xbox One (which includes three of the above four games).
