Now we’re talking. The Xbox One is a fairly anaemic piece of hardware (from a technical standpoint), even when it was fresh on the market, but time certainly hasn’t done it any favours. Xbox head Phil Spencer started talking numbers, though: While talking to Giant Bomb, he confirmed that Project Scorpio will be 4.5 times faster than the old Xbox One.
At least in terms of raw specs, the Xbox Scorpio is about as good as it gets outside the PC market (where, however, it does get a lot better.) That being said, Scorpio reportedly features more, higher bandwidth memory than the Xbox One with its 8 GB of DDR3, and while Microsoft has been mum about the CPU, it’ll likely be an upgrade over the atrocious Jaguar cores in the original Xbox One. It’s also head-and-shoulders above the PS4 Neo. So there’s that.
